Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is checked as on 23 September 2026. The same education rules apply to both posts.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree, or a bachelor’s degree with one of these as a principal subject: Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Statistics, Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Advanced Statistics. The degree must be from a university established under a State Act in India or a UGC-recognised institution.
- Basic computer application knowledge as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 is required. Candidates without the certificate may apply, but must produce it before appointment or the selection will be cancelled.
- Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both, is required.
- The candidate must be a citizen of India, or hold the nationality allowed under Rule 7 of the 1967 recruitment rules.
Age Limit
Candidates must be at least 18 years and not more than 37 years as on 23 September 2026. Relaxation is subject to a maximum age of 45 years, except where noted.

Candidates already in Gujarat Government service may get age relaxation as per the 1967 recruitment rules.
Salary
Selected candidates will get a fixed monthly pay for the first five years. After satisfactory service, they become eligible for the regular 7th Pay Commission scale, subject to the outcome of pending Supreme Court SLP Nos. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012.

Selection Process
Selection is through a single-stage CBRT/OMR objective (MCQ) exam in one paper with Part-A and Part-B. There is no interview.
- Part-A: 90 questions, 90 marks (Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Constitution of India, Current Affairs, and Gujarati-English comprehension)
- Part-B: 120 questions, 120 marks (Statistics, Official Statistics, Mathematics, and Economics)
- Total: 210 questions, 210 marks, 3 hours
- Negative marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer
- Qualifying mark: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B, independently, for all categories
About twice the category-wise vacancies will be called for document verification on provisional merit. The final list is based on exam marks and category-wise vacancies. Widow candidates and specified sports persons may get 5% marks added to the merit score, subject to conditions in the notification.

- Select Advertisement No. 457/202627, Class-3, and click Apply Now.
- Fill in personal details and educational details.
- Accept the declaration under Assurance and click Save to generate your Application Number.
- Upload your photograph and signature in the specified size and format.
- Click Confirm Application to generate your Confirmation Number.
- Print the confirmed application and keep it safe.
- Pay the fee online by 26 September 2026 and keep the receipt.
