The Indian Army has opened online applications for Agniveer recruitment under the Agnipath Scheme. The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) is tentatively scheduled for 1st to 16th June 2026. Applications are open from 13th February 2026, and the last date to apply is 1st April 2026. An estimated 25,000+ vacancies are available across General Duty, Technical, Clerk/Store Keeper, and Tradesman categories.

Important: This is a pan-India recruitment with a multi-stage selection — CEE, Physical Fitness Test, and Medical Examination. Make sure you meet the physical and educational eligibility for your chosen category before applying.

Weight

Weight must be proportionate to height and age as per the Army Medical Standard chart. For reference, a candidate who is 170 cm tall and aged 17–20 should weigh approximately 52–64 kg.

Tip: Start physical training now if you haven't already. The 1.6 km run and pull-ups carry 100 marks combined — a strong PFT score can make a significant difference in your final merit.

Selection Process

The selection follows three stages:

  1. Stage 1 — Common Entrance Exam (CEE): Online Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates are shortlisted based on CEE scores.
  2. Stage 2 — Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Physical Measurement: 1.6 km run, pull-ups, and body measurements at designated rally/CEE centres.
  3. Stage 3 — Medical Examination & Document Verification: Detailed medical check-up as per Army standards and verification of all original documents.

All posts follow a 50-question, 60-minute CBT with negative marking (25% deducted per wrong answer).

In-hand salary is lower after the Seva Nidhi Corpus Fund deduction (approximately ₹21,000 in Year 1 to ₹28,000 in Year 4). The government contributes a matching amount to your corpus fund.

Additional Benefits: Risk & Hardship allowance, free ration, clothing, medical facilities, skill certification, and Seva Nidhi corpus payout on completion.

After 4 Years: 25% of Agniveers are eligible for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces. Others receive resettlement training, skill certificates, and preference in CAPF/State Police recruitment.
