MHRB Assam M&HO-I Online Form 2026

The Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB), Assam has released Notification No. MHRB/73/M&HO-I/2026/5051 dated 03 September 2026 for 560 Medical & Health Officer-I (M&HO-I) posts under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Assam. Eligible MBBS candidates can apply online from 07 September 2026 to 20 September 2026 through the NHM Assam website.

Vacancy Details

MHRB Assam is filling 560 M&HO-I posts, including backlog vacancies. Reservation for women is included within each category. The actual number of posts may change as per requirement, and any change will be intimated before the interview or examination.

22 posts (4% of the total) are reserved horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and 11 posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen, within the overall 560 vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality and Service Conditions

• The candidate must be an Indian citizen as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.
• Government doctors already serving under DME, DHS, NHM Assam, or other Government of Assam agencies can apply. They do not need a separate No Objection Certificate (NOC) to apply.
• Candidates working in corporations, boards, or private organisations may apply after informing their present employer. They must produce an NOC at document verification or interview and a release order at the time of joining.

Educational Qualification

• The candidate must hold an MBBS degree from a university recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
• The candidate must be registered with the Assam Medical Council.

Age Limit

As on 01 January 2026, the candidate must be at least 21 years and not more than 38 years of age, as per Government Notification AAP.115/72/Pt.I/194 dated 10.03.2008. The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved categories as per existing rules.

Application Fee

Pay the fee through a Treasury Challan under the Head of Account 0210-Medical and Public Health-01-Urban Health Services-800-Other Receipt, or pay online through the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) at https://assamegras.gov.in. Mention the applied post in the Remarks column. Carry a printed copy of the Treasury Challan generated through GRAS at the time of interview. The fee is non-refundable. No other payment mode is accepted.

Salary

Selected candidates will get pay in the scale of Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 1,10,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700, along with other allowances admissible under the rules of the Government of Assam. Government servants joining on or after 01 February 2005 will come under the New Pension Scheme 2005, not the Assam Service (Pension) Rules, 1969.

Selection Process

The Board has not notified the selection procedure yet. It will decide and announce the process separately, based on the number of applications received.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official website https://nhm.assam.gov.in/.
2. Go to Recruitment → National Health Mission, Assam New.
3. Log in using your mobile number and password.
4. Fill the online application form for the M&HO-I post.
5. Upload your photograph and signature.
6. Submit the form. You cannot edit it after submission.
7. Pay the application fee through Treasury Challan or GRAS and keep the receipt.

Do not attach testimonials or certificates with the online form. At the interview, produce original documents for educational qualification, date of birth, caste, PWD status, treasury challan, and work experience, along with self-attested copies.
