The online application begins on 21st February 2026, and the last date to apply is 23rd March 2026. This is a merit-based selection — there is no written exam.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 15 years
  • Maximum: 24 years (as on 23/03/2026)
  • Age relaxation applicable as per government rules for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification

  • 10th Pass with minimum 50% marks from a recognised board
  • ITI Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade

Note: Both 10th and ITI marks carry equal weightage in merit calculation. For example, if you scored 80% in 10th and 90% in ITI, your merit score = (80 + 90) / 2 = 85%.

Selection Process

This recruitment has no written exam. Selection is entirely merit-based:

  1. Merit List prepared based on average of 10th percentage and ITI percentage.
  2. Document Verification at the allotted Western Railway division/workshop.
  3. Medical Fitness Test — candidates must be medically fit as per railway standards.

Note: In case of a tie in merit score, the older candidate is preferred.

Document Verification Centres

Verification will be held at Western Railway divisions: Mumbai (BCT), Vadodara (BRC), Ahmedabad (ADI), Ratlam (RTM), Rajkot (RJT), Bhavnagar (BVP), and various workshops (PL, MX, DHD, etc.). Centre allocation depends on the division/workshop you opt for and your merit rank. No TA/DA is provided.
