Exam Day Guidelines

What to Carry

  • Printed admit card (mandatory — no entry without it)
  • Valid Photo ID in original (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, PAN, or Driving License)
  • Black ballpoint pen for OMR sheet
  • Passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in application)
  • Transparent water bottle

What NOT to Carry

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic devices
  • Calculators, books, notes, or any study material
  • Bags, wallets, or pouches
  • Bluetooth devices, earphones, or headphones
  • Any metallic items or jewellery that may cause delays at frisking

Reporting & Entry

  • Arrive at the centre at least 90 minutes before the shift time
  • Gates will close well before the exam starts — latecomers will be denied entry
  • Expect thorough frisking and document verification at the gate
  • OMR sheets and question booklets will be distributed inside the hall
💡
Tip: UP Police SI exams are known for strict security arrangements. Avoid carrying anything beyond the essentials. Even items like wallets and car keys can cause delays at frisking checkpoints.

What Happens After the Written Exam?

Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for the remaining stages in this order:

  1. Physical Standard Test (PST) — Height, weight, and chest measurements verified
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — Running test: Male: 4.8 km in 28 minutes, Female: 2.4 km in 16 minutes
  3. Document Verification
  4. Medical Examination
💡
Note: The written exam is the most important stage — it determines whether you move forward. Focus entirely on the exam right now, and worry about PET preparation after the result.
